Jeffrey J. Ciachurski
Position: Chief Executive Officer & Director

Jeff Ciachurski founded Western Wind Energy in 1998 and has been responsible for developing it's corporate strategy. He has negotiated more than 200MW of PPAs as well as key land acquisition and turbine supply agreements. Additionally, Jeff has played a key role in obtaining funding for meeting Western Wind Energy's capital requirements -- he raised over CDN$50 million to acquire real estate and develop the Company's projects.

Jeff has over 20 years of experience in public companies in areas such as executive management, corporate administration and venture capital financing. He has been the Chief Executive Officer of Western Wind Energy since 1998.



 
Chris Thompson
Position: Chief Financial Officer

Chris Thompson is a KPMG trained chartered accountant. Through his company, TCC Consulting Ltd., he has provided ongoing strategic, corporate finance, M&A and Canadian, US and UK regulatory compliance consulting services over the last 20 years to a number of public and private companies. He has consulting experience in a wide variety of sectors, including financial services, environmental engineering, real estate, e-gaming, biotech and information technology. Companies Chris has worked closely with include Dow Jones Inc., Spectra Restaurant Group, World Gaming PLC, Ondine Biopharma Inc., the Bailey Group and Stockgroup Information Systems.

Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and has extensive international experience having lived and worked overseas for a total of 10 years in both Asia and the West Indies.



 
J. Michael Boyd
Position: Vice President of Development & Chairman of the Board

Michael Boyd has eight years of experience as the governing board supervisor (and two years as the chairman) of a public entity, Pima County, administering a $1 billion annual budget and having 7,000 employees. Currently, he is also a director with a public entity that has the largest electrical energy procurement in the State of Arizona. In addition, he has been instrumental in developing the resource standard in Arizona. Mike has vast knowledge of the wind energy industry and also acts as a marketing and regulatory affairs consultant for marketing companies.

Mike has assisted Western Wind Energy in acquiring, leasing and zoning real estate suitable for the development of wind farms in Arizona. He has excellent relationships with the state's local and state government departments, Federal Government agencies, and largest utilities such as Arizona Public Service and Tucson Electric.



 
Steve R. Mendoza
Position: Executive Vice President and Chief Engineer

Steve Mendoza, an electrical engineer, brings to the table, 35 years of experience in utility transmission and engineering, design, planning and operations. He was the former Chief Engineer and Deputy Director of Arizona Power Authority. Steve has held senior positions in the Salt River Project and Arizona Public Service. He has also been responsible for managing a $700-million annual engineering budget. Steve is well-connected with the majority of the utilities in Southwest U.S. and is regarded as a highly respectable transmission engineer. He also plays a key role in shaping the region's planning and transmission policy.

 
George Salama
Position: President and CEO - Western Solargenics Inc.

Over the past 15 years, George Salama has led the development of over 2,000 megawatts of power projects in the United States, Canada and around the globe. Prior to joining Western Solargenics, Mr. Salama was with Southern California Edison where he led the negotiation of over 1,400 megawatts of renewable power projects including solar, wind, geothermal and biomass.

George is a Professional Electrical Engineer and has extensive experience in power generation development with several major corporations such as Kansas City Power & Light, Westinghouse Power Generation, and other majors.



 
T. Alana Steele
Position: General Counsel

Alana Steele specializes in energy, administrative and regulatory law and has over 15 years experience in the energy industry. She has represented clients such as municipal utilities, electric utilities, wind energy developers and natural gas producers and shippers on matters before federal and state regulatory bodies.

Alana provides legal advice on a wide range of legal issues, including advising management with respect to legal issues related to the development and implementation of its business strategy, governance and compliance policies.
